Jaclyn Hill…. Let’s speak. When you assume you’ll be able to sit there and preach to your 5.four million subscribers that unfavorable critiques “are usually not a factor”, you are sorely mistaken. How many individuals have to be doing it, so that you can take into account that it’s a “factor”? Simply since you do not see one thing taking place your self, does not imply it does not occur. To date, solely Kevin James Bennett and myself have been brazenly speaking about unfavorable advert campaigns within the influencer group, nonetheless that does not imply we’re the one two folks to have ever seen it. As extra folks discover the braveness to talk on this concern, we’ll see extra proof of this unscrupulous and unethical follow.

In todays video I clarify to you about unfavorable advertising and marketing in social media, and current proof gathered after talking with Australian promoting authorities. On the present time, there isn’t any authorized obligation to reveal sponsored content material that doesn’t comprise an endorsement of any kind. Which means that manufacturers pays somebody to submit a unfavorable assessment of a rivals product, and as long as the video doesn’t comprise an endorsement of a product, it doesn’t have to be disclosed as sponsored materials.

It’s NOT moral to simply accept a model sponsorship and fail to reveal that what you’re saying is a paid endorsement. It is even WORSE to simply accept a sponsorship to purposefully shed unfavorable gentle on one other model, in an effort to profit the model that’s paying you. YES, this DOES occur.

I hope you perceive what i am making an attempt to handle in todays video – if in case you have any questions in any respect, please go away them within the feedback beneath.

  1. Just remember that there is no solid evidence to back up the comment in the Reddit forum. With that being said, true or fabricated, the act of influencers offering these deals to brands (or brands offering these deals to influencers) is most certainly "a thing". (EDIT: the owner of the brand that was spoken of negatively has tweeted me saying that when she called out the influencer for the video in question, she was told that it was not in breech of the FTC guidelines).

  2. She's either naive or loves lying. Negative campaign is a thing since the slice the existence of people. Seriously…it's how you you make and break make money or a company. Business person can tell you that or politicians if you really want to get down and dirty of keep lying it's not a thing.

  3. I just found your videos today. I first subscribed because I liked you and Archie. I'm now a committed fan because of these videos. You are brilliant and I applaud you for standing your ground and continuing to inform people. ❤❤❤

  4. Thank you for being honest with us about what is going on. I would rather hear that you are being sponsored, then to lie to me and tell me you are NOT being sponsored…and then wonder how as a YouTuber you are able to afford ALL the things you are buying.
I appreciate your honesty Alex. You are a true, honest business person.

  5. I don't have a problem with comparative advertising whatsoever, as long as I know it's an ad. When I watch TV and see a commercial, it's clearly an ad. When I watch a review on YT, it's not always clear, which is the issue. We need to know what's genuine and what's advertising.

  6. After seeing her screw up every marketing release of her products and collabs… ive decided that Jacklyn Hill-the Dill is just an uneducated moron. JH really has to be the DUMBEST woman in the USA…. and thats pretty sad. Thank you Pastel for your intelligence and research. I love your natural and realistic approach. Jacklyn Dill to me is as plastic as you can get

  7. I kind of just had an "ah-ha" moment. That is how the people from the fyre festival were able to pay models and influencers to post about the festival and didnt have to tell their followers and fans about the endorsement

  8. I don't see how influencers don't think negative adverts aren't a thing. Think about toilet paper or diaper ads on tv. "Diaper A is three times more absorbent then diaper B" or "TP A is two times thicker than TP B" are both forms of comparative, or negative, advertising.

  9. Jaclyn used to market sigma brushes as good as mac for the fraction of the price, then morphe sponsored her and started to say morphe brushes are as good as mac for the fraction of the price, so even if she is unaware of it she did a negative/comparison sponsored review…

  10. Gurl this video was linked to the tea spill video about you well not about you but you were mentioned all in a good light too I adore you all of.your content is pure gold your adorable funny and too friggin cute lol I have binge watched you for a couple days lol
